32 teams, 32 Sleepers

“Some of you I know, some of you I’m meeting for the first time.” A quote from the brilliant Dr. Evil from Austin Powers. All 32 NFL teams have at least one guy out perform his projections in fantasy so let’s figure out who they are. A lot of variables are considered here with these people. Some are being drafted later than they should be or are good value, some guys may require an injury to get where they need to be and some guys won’t break out until later in the season. These aren’t necessarily ‘must draft’ players’ or ‘breakout candidates’ but they are people to keep on your radar for those that are in deep leagues looking for any leg up on their competition. If your league is like mine, the slightest rumor or momentum is enough for a guy to get scooped up where the remaining players on the waiver are just a trash heap of endless void. So be on the lookout for these guys in 2026 that can make a difference to your roster when you need it most.

NFL Futures Bets: 2026 Division Winners

We’re in a fun part of the NFL offseason where we will do anything to pass the time. The NFL Draft only holds our attention for a few days but once that weekend comes and goes, so do our hopes for any sign of life for football for quite some time. Well every year, I do post draft predictions on each division. And let’s just say, I believe a lot is going to change. Year over year, the average difference in division winners is 4. There are only 8 divisions in the NFL so a lot changes, teams underperform and others come out of nowhere. Who honestly had Sam Darnold and the Seahawks winning the NFC West last year as the number 1 seed and winning the Super Bowl? I know one guy for The Banner Show that probably did but that’s about it. Well I’m choosing 4 for new division winners this year. So who are they?

IS taylor Swift a Sellout?

This article is brought to you by Banner’s own Ryan Occhiogrosso. Just kidding, but he was the inspiration behind this entire read if you saw our most recent podcast episode 19 of The Banner Show. And thanks to you, I had to go listen to Teardrops on My Guitar. She sings about a guy named Drew and now I can’t help but laugh every time because I think she’s singing about me. So thank you. If you’re reading this, you better already be subscribed to YouTube. If not, boy do we have more hot takes if you like this one. So go follow!

Fantasy Football comeback players for 2026

How many times have you had high expectations and drafted a guy, he’s a bust, then he’s completely off your radar the next year because of it? Then the next year you pass up on him, and he finally puts up huge numbers? Raise your hands high and be proud because it happens to me all the time. The fact that I’m considering Justin Jefferson again for my first round pick has my blood boiling. But this type of behavior happens every year. Being consistent in the NFL is hard but comebacks happen every year. How many people gave up on Saquon after a mediocre year with the Giants? Look what he did the second he left them and was placed on a team that knew how to properly utilize him. Players get injured, they suffer from being on bad teams, or they deal with the sheer fact that JJ McCarthy is their starting QB. Again, blood pressure is up.

Why is this World Cup Different for the United States?

USA! USA! USA! Come on, let’s get a chant going! If you’re not on board with what’s going on right now with this team, will you ever be? To support a team that’s the country’s 5th most popular sport (arguably), this is the best chance we’ve had in a very long time to win the World Cup. And! We’re doing it on home soil. In fact, the United States has only won its first two games one other time in the history of the Cup

Fantasy Football BReakout players

Every fantasy football season, people get excited about the rookies coming into the league, hoping they explode right out the gate. Ja’Marr Chase was drafted with the 5th overall pick in the NFL draft in 2021 and of course, lived up to his hype in his rookie year. But what people forget about is the group of rookies that ‘underperformed’ in year one. The average NFL player doesn’t truly breakout until their 3rd season. In Chase’s draft class, Nico Collins and Amon-Ra St. Brown were drafted in the 3rd round. These guys seem to be doing pretty okay now. However, over the last 10 years, the expectation has jumped and we see rookie WRs and RBs put up 1,000 yards every year. But what I like to do is go back and look at the players that have been in the league for a couple years, have shown promise and given the opportunities, are due for a breakout. Especially if they’re in the right offense and situation. These are players that are mid to late round picks that could make a big difference on your fantasy team this year.

What's Next for the Spurs?

The five boroughs in New York City have completely erupted since the Knicks beat the Spurs in the NBA Finals. A conversation about their crazy fans can be had another day. I already wrote about how annoying they can be and we will never hear the end of this. Don’t say I didn’t warn you when I said “Don’t Count the Knicks Out.”

2026 Early Fantasy Football Sleepers

With just baseball occupying the sports world, I get a little sleepy. So what better time to start talking about fantasy football sleepers 2 months before your drafts? Every year, each position has someone that highly exceeds their ADP (average draft position), or even explodes out of

nowhere as the steal of the draft. I’m still riding the high of those Raheem Mostert days in 2023 where I took him in the 14th round. I vividly remember watching him run all over the Broncos to win 70-20 and put up over 40 fantasy points for me that day with 4 TDs. I remember because I was quarantining myself while having COVID for the 2nd time. It made me feel much better!

2026 Early Love/Hate Players for Fantasy Football

Every year I see lists like this come out with a whole lot of ‘no s*** Sherlock’ takes. All of these players are talented, don’t get me wrong. But the love doesn’t come from me wanting to hang out with them on a Friday night drinking beers, or the hate stemming from if they’ve burned me in the past (I still can’t get over Justin Jefferson as my first round pick last year). My love/hate comes from the situations they reside in within their offenses and where they are currently being drafted at. It’s the value concept of fantasy football. This game is about numbers, not about rooting for your favorite player and hopes. The numbers don’t lie. The only people lying are those that believe in JJ McCarthy.

Chicago Can't Bear it Any Longer

It’s the middle of June and I’m still looking for anything to talk about when it comes to football. Are we there yet!?!?! Close enough my friends, close enough. Not really, we still have 3 months until kickoff and am I the only person actually looking forward to seeing Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels open up against TCU in week 0 to get the college season underway? Imagine this game being in the middle of the season. Nobody would care. But right now, Americans have countdowns on their phones waiting for this game. Timing is everything. In the meantime, the NFL is keeping us occupied with rumors of a potential move of the Chicago Bears. But why are fans upset and why is it a big deal?

What the Braves are Playing for in 2026

The Atlanta Braves are currently off to the hottest start in franchise history with a record of 40-20 and lead all of MLB in win percentage. All while doing it without being in the top 5 in payroll within the league. The New York Mets fans are just facepalming their team as they lead the league (at least they lead in something) in team payroll with nearly $400 million but sit 13.5 games behind the Braves in the NL East standings. And it’s only June 1st. I just had to throw that in there because this article is not about that disaster of a franchise that just can’t seem to make the right moves. It’s about a well rounded organization. You know I love for people to catch strays.

2026 Fantasy Football Bold Takes

It’s only May and I can’t be the only person counting down until we have some football in our lives. This happens every year and the worst is yet to come. Once the NHL and NBA playoffs are over (typically within a day or 2 apart), it’s just baseball. Thankfully, we have the World Cup hosted in North America this year to hold us over. But at the end of the day, it’s the wrong football and that and baseball is not enough to keep me from itching at my neck.

Don’t Count Out the Knicks

As the world waits for the ‘real NBA Finals’ matchup to finish between the Spurs and Thunder in the Western Conference, the Knicks are coming off a sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers, waiting to find out who they will contend against for a chance at a championship, their first appearance since 1999. Vegas and basketball fans alike see the winner of the Western Conference going on to win it all and the Knicks will be a walk in the (Central) park. But I have other thoughts and I don’t think this will be as easy as people think.

A Champion Remembered: Kyle Busch’s Lasting Legacy

Memorial Day Weekend is one of the best 3 day benders in the country. It features NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600, one of the sport’s four Crown Jewel races throughout the year, the Indianapolis 500, a race in a legendary category of its own, and as many glizzies as my body can handle. But this year, tragedy reshaped the entire weekend following the sudden passing of NASCAR legend and former champion Kyle Busch at the age of 41 earlier in the week. And honestly, I don’t think people are talking enough about the dominance and legacy of number 8.

There’s officially no more denying it, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has entered basketball royalty. After leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to its third consecutive season as the Western Conference's number 1 overall seed, SGA earned his second straight NBA MVP award with 83 out of 100 votes, while continuing the Thunder's push toward becoming the NBA's next dynasty and looks to go back-to-back as NBA Champions. SGA’s silky mid-range game locked up the personal award consecutively as the 14th player in league history to do so.

From Suspensions to Sponsorships

College athletics was forever changed on July 1, 2021 when the NCAA allowed student-athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness or NIL as it is known in the industry. Before this went into effect, a player couldn’t so much as walk into McDonalds and get a free Big Mac without setting off the alarms for grounds of suspension or the swat team busting their door down.
