NFL Week 2 Fantasy STart/Sit
NFL Week 2 Start/Sit Fantasy Players
By: Andrew Ferguson
Week 1 brought us one of the most fun weeks we’ve ever seen in the NFL with tons of scoring and star players finding the endzone. However, it did also bring heartbreak with a lot of high level talent putting up goose eggs. So who keeps the momentum going, and who comes back down to earth? Let’s get into this week’s boom or bust players.
QBs to Start:
Dak Prescott- Going into a divisional rivalry game in New York on primetime while the Giants honored the 25 year anniversary of 9/11 is tough for anyone. The Cowboys are at home against a lame Washington defense. Dak will come through.
Brock Purdy- Coming back home after putting up 3 TDs in Australia. He’ll keep the momentum going against a bad Dolphins team. Ride Purdy now until his old weapons start to get hurt.
Caleb Williams- Ben Johnson is going for the scoring record. Caleb will continue to put up MVP numbers on the way. Obviously he put up huge numbers week 1 but there are people that drafted Caleb and another QB. He’s the safe option. Have fun with this one.
Jayden Daniels- It wasn’t pretty week 1, but he still had 2 TDs against an Eagle’s secondary I think very highly of. Until the Cowboys prove they’ve fixed their defense, especially their secondary, I’m starting QBs against them. Especially those with rushing upside.
QBs to Sit:
Matthew Stafford- The Giants shut Dak down. He’s a QB with no rushing upside so he better throw for 3 TDs or he’s not worth the start. This Rams team is already under the microscope of not living up to their 2026 expectations. I need to see this offense get on a roll before I’m putting Stafford in.
Joe Burrow- Tough to bench someone of his talent but I hate the matchup. Josh Allen just torched Houston but he’s a freak. Houston is desperate to not go 0-2 to start the season and I see the defense stepping up.
Jared Goff- This team is built around Gibbs and the run game. Goff will get his weapons involved but it won’t come with huge fantasy numbers this week in Buffalo.
Tyler Shough- It was rough at first… then he went on to throw for 400 yards in desperation comeback mode. I don’t see that happening again in Baltimore with a stingy defense and secondary.
RBs to Start:
David Montgomery- He’s the proven bellcow in Houston. Cincinnatti isn’t going to terrify anyone’s run game. I expect Monty to have another big game at home in a game they need to win.
Breece Hall- The Vikings just ran for 100 yards with Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones. Breece Hall is a much better option than both of them. Geno Smith may also not be as bad as we think and will get Breece some options.
Bucky Irving- He’s also the clear bellcow in this offense. People were worried about his health and how the Bucs would rotate their RBs. Irving is the man and should run all ove the Browns.
Chuba Hubbard- Brooks is not the starter. Hubbard will get plenty of carries and opportunities in a Panthers offense that actually looked good with Bryce Young leading the way. He’ll keep the momentum going against the Falcons who are trash.
RBs to Sit:
Travis Etienne Jr.- I don’t trust this offense against the Ravens this week. And even when they played catch up last week, he wasn’t as involved. He also had a TD vultured away so that’s something to pay attention to.
Marshawn Lloyd- Whatever his projections are, are a lie. He’s going to be a touchdown dependant RB in a committee that had awful playcalling last week. Avoid this backfield until Josh Jacobs is back.
Bhayshul Tuten- The Broncos forgot how to tackle and let Ken Walker steamroll them Monday night. It’s not going to happen again. This defense is way better than what they put on tape week 1 and they will bounce back to stuff Tuten.
Tony Pollard- No brainer here, but for anyone that was considering it, don’t do it. Titans are hot garbage. You’re better off finding anything at all off the waiver wire or finding a tight end in your flex spot.
WRs to Start:
Emeka Egbuka- The Bucs are going to bounce back in a get right game against the Browns and Egbuka will get his share of targets. He’s the WR1 in this offense.
DJ Moore- Josh Allen and Moore built chemistry quickly. This is the best QB Moore has had and it’s also the best WR Allen has had. Sorry Diggs fans. Moore is a safe WR2 all season with WR1 upside.
Christian Watson- Coming off a huge game, he’ll keep the momentum going. The Green Bay run game is atrocious right now so I expect Jordan Love to continue to keep getting his WRs involved heavily.
Luther Burden III- Little to show last week for a team that put up 59 points. I’m not concerned though. He and Caleb had a connection all summer long and he will bounce back this week.
WRs to Sit:
Drake London- If Cooper Rush limps his way out of the tunnel onto the field, no WR is a safe play in this offense. This offense is completely revolved around Bijan Robinson until a competent QB is in.
Tee Higgins- Ja’Marr Chase is likely to have a bounce back game after going 2 catches for 12 yards. I don’t like the matchup in Houston and Tee may not have a lot of opportunities this week.
KC Concepcion- Love the talent, hate the situation. Deshaun Watson looked lost last week. Until the Browns sort out their QB problem, KC is on the bench. Bad matchup going into Tampa that needs a win.
Michael Pittman Jr.- Aaron Rodgers doesn’t scare anyone anymore. New England’s defense is much better than Atlanta’s. He’s a borderline flex play throughout the season but not this week.
TEs to Start:
Hunter Henry- AJ Brown is out for 6 weeks and TreVeyon Henderson is still nursing an ankle. Henry should get the biggest boost in stock and targets.
Dalton Kincaid- Josh Allen has enough weapons on the outside now to get more open looks for Kincaid than he’s ever had. He’ll keep the momentum going and is a safe starting TE for the season and will keep it going against the Saints who let Juwaun Johnson have a day.
Isaiah Likely- This was no fluke. He’s a top 3 tight end for the season. He’s been behind Mark Andrews his whole career and now has a chance to prove he’s the man. I called this one all offseason.
Dallas Goedert- He’s going to get more redzone looks than any TE this year. As long as they’re not toosh pushing on the one, he’s the favorite passing option.
TEs to Sit:
Travis Kelce- He just went for 71 yards in his first game, but it was one big play that saved his day. This team’s focus is Ken Walker. Kelce won’t need to be involved as much against the Jets this week.
Tyler Warren- The Chiefs defense showed up big last night and made Bo Nix look like a child. I think they can handle Daniel Jones just fine as well. Indy pass catchers won’t have a fun day.
Kyle Pitts- Do I even need to explain this one? He just went for a goose egg with Cooper Rush. Waste of talent
Jake Ferguson- Dak is going to get his big playmakers the ball in a crowded receiver room. Jake is a safety valve and is touchdown dependent this year. I think people are still holding onto what he did at the start of last season. Better options that are even on the waiver in my opinion.
